Well here it is: Red Mic Radio.  We’re launching this thing prayerfully – because this station is about God and for Him. Our prayer is that he will take this small offering and bless it, and make it a blessing to Clearwater and beyond. Every week we will introduce five new songs that moved us, that told us the truth about ourselves and the world, that preached to our hearts about God and who He is.  We hope the songs will make you want to sing, dance, and ponder our awesome God.  Lord-willing, this is only the beginning of many great things to come from Red Mic Radio. Enjoy!

Is He Worthy? -- Andrew Peterson

Are you ready to engage with the reality that you are a character in an epic story? That’s what I feel this song does. It takes the form of a call-and-response song, and it powerfully draw us into a grand picture of the world and our existence in it. We are asked to acknowledge that we are in a story where the world is broken and the shadows grow darker. But the hero is Jesus Christ: the Lion of Judah who conquers the grave, the one who holds forever those He loves. The ending is good beyond imagining because one day everything will be made new, and our God will dwell again with us.  And yes, He is, He worthy!

Do you feel the world is broken? (We do)
Do you feel the shadows deepen? (We do)
But do you know that all the dark won’t stop the light from getting through? (We do)
Do you wish that you could see it all made new? (We do)

Cast Your Cares -- Guvna B. (feat. The Kingdom Choir)

I think this is the best advice you’ll hear today. I hope this song gets stuck in your head. It will preach to your soul. We all need to be reminded to cast our cares on His shoulders, because we forget to do it. Let’s stop thinking we have to go it alone. We have a God who is present for us like nobody else. It’s time to take advantage of that.

In my weakness, in my trouble
When it’s darkest and it’s hardest
When I’m lonely, console me
When I’m searching and I’m hurting
Oh I know that you’re with me
You’re near me
And you’re for me Lord

Child In Your Arms (Capital Kings Remix) -- Ryan Stevenson (feat. Aaron Cole)

This remix of “Child In Your Arms” get my head bobbing every time, but I love the lyrics most of all. Have you ever contemplated the greatness of God? When I spend time in nature, God’s immense power, creativity, and knowledge make me feel tiny and insignificant. But not only is He an awe-inspiring being, He is our FATHER. He loves you, and there is a place in His arms for you.

I wanna fall straight into Your arms
I wanna stay wherever You are
I wanna listen to the beat of Your heart
Like a child in Your arms, like a child in Your arms

Whose You Are -- Dillon Chase

Would you rather make your own identity or be given one? I think many of us believe that we can become whoever we want to be.  Yet we struggle with feeling that we haven’t yet achieved that “true identity” and aren’t even sure if we like who we are becoming. Dillon Chase speaks truth when he raps “You don’t know who you are, cause you don’t know whose you are!” Our true identity is given by the Creator. If we cry out to Him, He rescues us from the dark mess of our failed self-identity-making and tells us who we are.

I know what’s it’s like to be pulled out
From a very dark place where the silence made a sound
And I know what it’s like hear Him shout
And then walk out of the grave brighter days may be found

Love Anyway -- Tenth Avenue North

Jesus called us to walk a path called “the narrow way.”  It’s the path of following Him.  If we follow Him, we are going to be different. That’s why it’s called the narrow way as opposed to the broad way. What will be different about us if we walk this path? We will stand out because we love our neighbours. It’s as simple as that.  That’s what this song is about.

Teach me how to turn
Turn the other cheek
Show me how to bless
Even those who threaten me
